Maybe the Steam users took over the launcher users in numbers and so they decided it was unsustainable, because if they kept having players shift to Steam or new players be on Steam, they'd eventually have to raise prices anyway to make the profits they were making before. Epic, Xbox and PSN are all cheaper.Įven still, Gaijin did bite the bullet with Steam for quite a while, but for one reason or another decided it wasn't worth it and so passed the Steam tax onto the end user by raising prices of GE etc when buying through Steam. Steam is pretty notorious for taking some of the highest cuts for using their platform across gaming. Pretty sure the sales cut is the same across both consoles though. Selling/advertising the sale of accounts, codes, gold generating apps, cheating bots, etc.
